Custom Designed Microcontroller Development Boards
Microcontrollers are tiny computers that run one single program to interface with the world. They do everything from control your HVAC system to tell you if you are pregnant or not. Below is a sample of projects I have made over the years using a variety of microcontrollers.

AVR’s ATtiny10
The AVR ATtiny10 is a small 6 pin 8 bit microcontroller with 1K of flash and only 32 bytes of RAM. With some creative programming it can be made to do some interesting, useful, and whimsical things.

Auto-Gardener
Gardening got me fully back into electronics. A solar powered automatic garden irrigation system I built for those hot summer days was a fantastic help for those times I was away from the garden.

Roofing Material Datalogger
This is a pair of dataloggers that are being used in researching the thermal characteristics of various natural and synthetic roofing materials.

Cooler Datalogger
Monitoring temperatures and collecting data is a geek’s delight. This is a data logger used to track the inside and outside temperature of my cooler. I was curious if the temperatures inside kept the food I packed in the morning safe to eat at dinner.

Electric Heat Engine
When learning about heat engines I had the idea of building an all electric one. Some copper, three peltier devices, temperature sensors, and a handful of parts and I was successful!

Magic 8 Ball
This is an electronic version of the infamous magic 8 ball that has helped people make major life decisions for decades. This uses an 18650 Lithium battery secured in a 3D printed tube with threads, an analog accelerometer, recharging circuit, and an LCD screen.
