A High Tech Garden

Gardening is what got me back into electronics many years ago and each year I try to do something more interesting, more capable, and more fun. This was my first serious attempt at an automated garden.

It uses an Arduino Nano built into the small gray water tight project box. There are two indicator LEDs. One flashes briefly every thirty seconds to indicate it is in fact on. The second LED turns on when the pump is running.

There is a large container of water in the background and the black cylinder has several tubes that distribute the water to individual pots and the main garden bed.

It worked very well all season long and those lush cucumber plants, jalapeno peppers, basil, and many other plants appreciated the frequent water.
